What made you want to become an author?

All my life, I marveled at the written word. Whether verbalized or read, there is this beautiful moment – a connection, an understanding – between the storyteller and the listener/reader. The same can be said about music and theater, but since I can’t sing, dance or act, this was it

Why did you decide to write a survival thriller?

It all started as a dare by my wife, to write a story that appeals to readers, like herself, who normally wouldn’t give a horror book a try for fear of it being filled with clichés and gore.

Hopefully, I did a decent job of balancing a thrilling scene and telling a human story that is relatable and examines whether we choose to act in a manner that upholds our values or may be considered evil but necessary to survive.

What are a few of your quirks?

You would need to ask my wife for a complete list, but here are a few:

I have a fear of swimming in open water. I always think a shark will get me.

I only barbecue in the winter.

I enjoy eating ice cream out of the container, one teaspoon at a time.

I love the smell of burning firewood.

I like to know how a show will end before I watch it.
